DAISOGEL C4-P packing materials are bonded with butyl groups and show moderate hydrophobicity. They are available in four pore sizes, 6, 12, 20 and 30nm to optimise the separations depending on the size of the solute. 12, 20, and 30nm materials are suited for the separation of peptides and proteins. Especially, larger pore silicas with less surface area are used to avoid denaturation of proteins. The phases are also useful for separating components within a wide range of hydrophobicity in one shot.
