Responsible Care is a voluntary initiative carried out by the worldwide chemical industry to promote proper, knowledgeable handling of chemicals so as to protect the health of humans and the environment.
Under the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA) High Production Volume (HPV) Chemical Initiative, global chemical manufacturers and/or importers volunteer to complete the initial hazard assessments on 1,000 HPV chemicals to aide the OECD HPV Program.
These programs are the first of their kind in the world to try to assess the initial hazard of chemicals in high production volume, and are in response to rising public concerns about the threats posed to the environment and humans by the rapidly increasing numbers and
varieties of chemicals.
Under program, DAISO commits 10 products as either a leader company or a cosponsor company.

We work to ensure safety by preparing a product safety data sheet (Material Safety Data Sheet; MSDS) for each product and by distributing this to our customers. We also attach warning labels to drums and all such containers, and have transportation companies carry a yellow card that describes emergency measures and first aid treatment. |

Through danger prediction training and the identification of potentially hazardous situations, we are working to improve the work environment, consolidate work procedures, and boost education and training so as to eliminate workplace accidents. Furthermore, company divisions are working together to create measures by studying past accidents, and carrying out thorough safety management of highpressure gas, dangerous substances and the facilities where these are used and stored.
